Andrew?

When Matt comes to visit - we tend to do a lot of the same things we have enjoyed in the past. I think this is partially because Matt knows I am a creature of habit and partially because, well it is fun. One thing we like is going down to Seaport Village to see the psychic there, Dr. Iris. She is intriguing, I suppose that is the appropriate adjective. When we went during his recent visit and the psychic just so wanted to talk to me about my love life, or lack there of. I did not want to tell her why I was there, namely work worries, and I tried to steer her away but she was persistent on my love life. She asked me a couple times about Andrew? I do not know an Andrew so I was like what the hell is she talking about. I just guessed that everyone has an off day.

Also during his visit, Matt suggested going to a bar we both like a lot. It was so good to have Matt visit but truthfully I did my best to not be miserable so that I did not ruin his vacation but it was hard and I am not sure how well I did. I really did not want to go but Matt twisted my arm, although admittedly not too hard. While out we met Freddy - he was interested in Matt at first but when not reciprocated - he moved to me. I was fine with that, Matt is a great wingman, plus it was just fun to be out and social. Freddy was a bit tipsy but it was Saturday night and why else go out to a bar. He was fun and funny and had this fabulous ring that fit me perfectly. I wore it the whole night, although it had diamonds in it so I was surprised he so willingly let a stranger wear it. I have seen Freddy a couple times since. He is very nice and surprisingly normal and sweet and his photo is above.

How the psychic ties in is this. Matt and I met up with Freddy a second time at the bar and while talking Freddy told me his full name is Frederick. I asked if I could call him that, Freddy said no that he did not like it but I could call him Fred or Andrew, which is his middle name. Matt INSTANTLY perked up over that one as he knew what the psychic said to me. Sometimes Matt can be like a Greek chorus - always with the damn comments. As soon as Freddy said I could call him Andrew, I shut Matt right down! Freddy was like, "What? What?". I love Matt.

As I said I spent a couple more times with Freddy, all very nice. I like him. I hope I get to blog more about him but I know time will tell. So much darkness lately and Freddy is definitely bright and enjoyable.

You Loser!

Still on the road with a ways to go but I am actually very proud of this picture. Matt was here visiting last week and it is always so great when he visits. I felt like Oprah, living with a personal chef and a personal trainer! It was super hot on Saturday so we wanted to go to a pool. I went and put my bathing suit on but it was too big and would not stay up so I dug this one out. It never fit before - I bought it ages ago because it was a "deal" - I am talking years ago back when I was in MA. Well it fits now! As if that is not great enough - thanks to the super inspiration by Matt tonight when I went to my weight loss meeting - I lost 6.2 lbs. I am not sure who was more shocked, the ladies or me. I have lost a total of 35 lbs so far and wanna just keep go, go going. Of course I was sooooo the Loser of the Week and although my face gets so red - I love every moment of the ladies singing to me!

Some Nieces

Here is Julia and Kayla after Julia graduated from 8th grade. How attractive is she - plus she won a surprise award from her school. Kayla just finished her first year at college - how nuts is that. She look so much like my sister in this photo.

Here I am with Julia - she is always so poised and looks great. I am wearing my new favorite shirt. Vertical stripes work wonders so well that I got the same shirt in grey too (but they were on clearance for only 3 bucks each). You will be seeing these shirts a lot.

Here is Marina (with glasses) driving Elliana nuts. Elliana is my favorite penpal ever. There is such joy when I see one of her letters in the mailbox. Maria is my partner in crime. She completely has my DNA and is just as evil as I. But we mostly use our powers for good.

Here is Marina with Jordan, my youngest niece. You can see a little of Jordan's cast. She was goofing around at the bus stop and broke her arm! The day before this photo, I took Jordan to get some ice cream and as we chatted and laughed, I was sure to slap a big old Uncle Scott signature on that cast. Wonder is she will sell it on eBay?

Some Nephews

This is Jonathan - how cute it he????? Check out those eyes. Plus he cries if woman other than his mother hold him but he loves to be with men. Hence rapidly becoming my favorite nephew :)
This is Joshua - the middle child. He has so much personality I cannot stand it. He is completely mischievous and in perpetual motion. But he is so sweet.

Sweet Jane

When I was in MA recently I got to have lunch with Jane - I just love her. We spent a lovely couple of hours in glamorous downtown Woburn. I got some great pictures! We also tried a a Mexican place that Jane wanted to try for the first time. Believe it or not, Mexican is not my favorite. When in MA I just want Chinese 24/7. It was good but not nearly as awesome as the halfmoon from Roma's bakery that I thoroughly enjoyed as we sat on a patio set that was up on the sidewalk to enjoy the wonderful scenic traffic in Woburn center. Jane just kills me and she is my favorite text buddy. I send her the most random texts - a lot of pictures of dinner - and she loves them all. We just laughed and enjoyed. Even better news, I inspired her to join the local chapter of TOPS and her first week she lost an awesome amount of weight. Her chapter does not sing songs as much as mine does so I serenaded her over the phone with a particularly rousing rendition of "For You're a Jolly Good Loser".
Jane you are wonderful.

A Trip to England

Recently I got a chance to go to MA to visit. It was wonderful to see family and friends and I only regret that there just never is enough time. I did however spend one day with Eileen. She is wonderful - a truly lovely woman and genuine friend. She is very artistic and likes photos also so she suggested that we go to Newburyport in hot pursuit of beauty. It was an amazing day - I love Newburyport and the weather was outstanding. Eileen is very positive and calming so I placed every minute of that day in the love it column. I got a lot of good shots too. Later in the day as we sat in the square she remarked that it really did feel like being in England if you let your imagination wander a bit. I definitely wandered and placed myself mentally in England too but truth be told - there is no place on this earth I could be and feel any better than sitting next to an amazing friend.

TOPS Meeting # 11

I go every Monday to my weight loss support group and I am pleased with my progress. I have lost 28 lbs so far and the above picture was taken today while down at Pacific Beach with Matt. I still have plenty of road ahead of me but I certainly like this picture more than I would have when I still had those 28 lbs. I am at the lowest weight I have been in over 3 years and I am poised to keep this going. Matt and I walked the boardwalk today and I was laughing at myself since I looked like such a tourist and he looked like the native San Diegan - yes I am wearing a backpack plus black socks and sneakers. Whatever - we burned calories and so MISSION accomplished :)

Broken Things

Ok so I will start with the bright side - sometimes old and broken things can still be beautiful. What a string I have had lately though! I was in SD and it was late at night. I returned to my car and it was completely DEAD! I freaked out. There was no forewarning and I did not leave anything on but the battery was so dead that AAA could not jump it. I had them tow me home and figured I would deal with the next day but was concerned it was something really bad. I really did not know what to do so called AAA to tow me to the garage but they said they could come and replace my battery at my house. It worked out so well and was not nearly what I thought it would cost. Then my computer shit the bed completely. I was freaked out about my car but my computer flipped me out too - those are literally the TWO things I cannot live without. Money is not so good but I got a new laptop, so far it is working out well. Although at first I was having problems using it with blog but I have gotten that resolved and I am back! Lastly my DVD player started acting up badly - lots of skipping and freezing. I love movies but that was just low on the list so I was prepared to just let it die with dignity. Unexpectedly I came across a DVD player cleaning disc so I figured I would try it as it was only 5 bucks. Knock on wood but it worked and now my DVD player is now chugging along just fine. I have stuff to say as I have missed not being able to post so definitely keep checking in.
